Graphic designers work with very different constraints than visual artists. They have to meet demands of the market while striving to produce work of aesthetic quality and recognizable style under pressures of deadlines and budgets.

Many graphic artists are also interested in using their
skills to contribute to public debates about political
issues and ideas. Others create works for their own
satisfaction, exploring the conventions of typography,
legibility, and communication in an expressive manner
usually associated with the fine arts.
