Zuzana Licko began working within the requirements of of digital type design in the mid-1980s and has since been responsible for a host of type faces which have now become classics in the field. Her early faces, such as Oakland and Emigre, took advantage of the "jaggy" look of low-resolution screen displays and dot matrix printers rather than trying to ignore or repress their characteristic features.
